Charlie and Boomer Adoptable Dachshunds are Adopted – an adorable pair of 7 year-old, 12 pound buddies. These two go together like PB & J, like cookies and milk, salt and pepper. You get the idea!

Boomer likes other dogs, Charlie prefers less excitable dogs and doesn’t care much for puppies. It isn’t about the size of the dog for these two, but they both prefer calmer friends compared to younger more active ones. It is unknown as to how well they take to cats.

Charlie and Boomer walk together like bookends on a tandem leash. They love their walks! Although house broken, they do need a routine to stay on track. It took a few days for them to get used to their new environment. Since that time, their foster mom hasn’t had any accidents.

The boys came with travel kennels, but neither one has gone in at all. It hasn’t been necessary to crate them. Charlie and Boomer love to sleep in the big bed with their fosters. They’re happy to stay in bed as long as their human does. No early morning wake ups from them!

Neither plays much with toys. They also don’t know what table food is, and don’t mind if you mess with their food bowls.

Both boys enjoy car rides and look out the window at stops. They lay down when the car is moving. They don’t try to climb onto the driver, so they can travel on the seat with a dog seatbelt.

Charlie and Boomer are people dogs. They really just want to sit on your lap, and cuddle up like good doxies! Now, when left alone, there is anxiety and lots of barking. Although, when home with their humans, the barking is only at appropriate times. They want a family who will be home with them most of the time.

When meeting new dogs, the boys will sniff and greet, but then retreat back to the human. They’re not shy or scared, i think they just don’t really care as much about other dogs as they do humans. They like to follow their foster mom around. If they can see her, they’re good. Out of sight, they go looking for her.

Charlie and Boomer are a bonded pair of the most adorable dachshund boys ever! They’re happy little guys whose greatest wish is to always have a lap to sit on. The boys love their walks, and enjoy sunbathing. Charlie and Boomer love sleeping in the big bed, and will stay cuddled up as long as you do!

*Be advised, we have a couple of volunteers processing hundreds of applications. We are unable to call everyone back as we do not have ANY employees. Our dedicated volunteers and foster parents will check references of the applications that appear to be a good match. At that time, if you are chosen, we will contact you to arrange a home visit.

The adoption fee helps to cover costs, as each dog is fully vetted, and treated, as needed to prepare them to move forward in their new life. You pay no fee unless you are chosen to adopt.
