Adoptable Mix Rue is 6 months old and sweet as can be. Rue is very friendly and engaging with other dogs. She can be a little nervous at first but really enjoys playing and generally be around other pets. She’s nervous when first meeting larger dogs but has successfully met other large dogs while out for walks and displays friendly engagement.
Rue took a few days to adapt to the cats in her foster home but is now just curious when she meets them and approaches them with a friendly demeanor. She’s young so her engagement can be startling for them but she is not chasing or barking at them.
She has met children as young as 7 but not any smaller. She was friendly and approachable but it’s unknown how she would do with smaller children. Her friendly nature seems like she would be fine but her energy and age may need close supervision for little ones.
Rue is good on the leash and enjoys going for walks. Rue is doing well with her house training and will use puppy pads indoors. She doesn’t indicate when she wants to go outdoors and will instead use a pad but is very good at doing her business if she’s taken outdoors. She may take a little more time and patience to get the knack but she’s doing very well.
Best being crated at night as it helps indicate to Rue that it’s time to be calm and rest. She’s also very good in there if she needs to be crated during the day but other than night time she has not spent extended daytime periods in a crate.
She has mild food and toy aggression but not outside of normal behavior. Rue does not become fiercely protective but may grumble if our dog approaches her food. Car rides are a treat for this girl. She can be very shy when meeting strangers but quickly warms up. She is more reticent around men and requires a passive approach from them to be comfortable.
With no excessive barking, she’s very quiet for the most part but will sometimes bark along with the other dog when she gets stirred up by something. She has not been the instigator for barking.

Rue loves everyone. She is extremely friendly and just wants to be your shadow. She will gladly lay near you all day and is very smart and quickly learning how to avoid potty accidents in the house along with other commands. Rue is still very young and doesn’t always know when it’s time to be calm. She wants to play and is always ready to engage. She is very smart and has figured out how to climb our fence so she needs a home with a taller fenced area or to be trained for an invisible fence. Our current fence is a metal ~ 3ft fence for reference. She is very eager to please and is responsive when you speak to her. She is very smart and I think will quickly learn commands. *Be advised, we have a couple of volunteers processing hundreds of applications. We are unable to call everyone back as we do not have ANY employees. Our dedicated volunteers and foster parents will check references of the applications that appear to be a good match. At that time, if you are chosen, we will contact you to arrange a home visit.
The adoption fee helps to cover costs, as each dog is fully vetted, and treated, as needed to prepare them to move forward in their new life. You pay no fee unless you are chosen to adopt.
