Adoptable Mix Lizzie is looking for a pal or two she can keep all to herself! If you’re not into doggie playgroups and don’t have other dogs, she could be your best buddy!
Lizzie is fully house trained. She walks beautifully on a leash without pulling and enjoys going for walks to explore and go potty.
At times she has gotten along with dogs but most recently she would become aggressive towards them without provocation or warning. She can be protective of her owner and would not do well with small children. Sometimes, her hair goes up on her back when she sees other dogs. We would say it’s safe to guess that she is probably not fond of cats. In a previous foster home, she didn’t have issues with other dogs, but she needs a home with all the attention directed at her. She’s a queen bee like that!
Lizzie likes to be in bed with her owner and snuggle up on top of the covers. She’s really a lover, not a fighter, unless you’re a dog who wants mom’s attention! Lizzie is not food or toy aggressive with her people.
Overall, she is friendly when meeting new people but only after she has had a little time to warm up. She will do a little nip/bite at them to test the waters but responds nicely to being told no and will be wagging her tail the entire time.
She does not love being left alone, will wait by the door and occasionally have an accident when you’re not home. Lizzie is not an excessive barker and only barks when she hears something unusual. She is not destructive at all.
In our care she has received: Vet Check, 1 or more Vaccines, Dental Exam, Spay or Neuter, Flea Treatments, Heart Worm testing and medication
Adoptable Mix Lizzie – 7 yrs, 19 lbs
Lizzie is a very, very good girl! She is house trained and enjoys being near her owner and as the only pet in the home. She would do best with someone who is often at home (work from home, stay at home or retired). She might feel more secure being crate trained if/when owner leaves the home. She enjoys going for walks. She loves to eat, have treats and play with her toys. She enjoys belly rubs and rolling around on the floor to scratch her back & belly. She is a lizard hunter in her spare time. She has the softest little snore when she sleeps. She is a great companion for sure! Adoption fee $250
If you believe you could provide a safe and loving forever home for this dog, please fill out an application with the dogs’ name on it.
*Be advised, we have a couple of volunteers processing hundreds of applications. We are unable to call everyone back as we do not have ANY employees. Our dedicated volunteers and foster parents will check references of the applications that appear to be a good match. At that time, if you are chosen, we will contact you to arrange a home visit.
The adoption fee helps to cover costs, as each dog is fully vetted, and treated, as needed to prepare them to move forward in their new life. You pay no fee unless you are chosen to adopt.
