Adoptable mix Joey is the sweetest Chiweenie you could ever ask for! When excited, he jumps up like a baby kangaroo, hence his name. Joey is talkative and makes noises and little growls to tell you about his day. When he is not playing with toys or his foster buddies, Joey can be found curled up next to you for a good nap.
Joey has discovered swimming and LOVES IT! This playful one-year-old adjusted well to his foster home. He was like a kid in a candy store when he found out he had four foster dogs to play with! He does well when he meets new people and is an all-around sweet-tempered boy. We are unsure of how Joey would be with small children, large dogs or cats, since we haven’t observed those interactions yet. He does show some hesitancy when meeting new dogs at the dog park, we believe because there is a dog at the park that isn’t too friendly.
Foster mom says Joey is house-trained, with only a few accidents, mostly because he was adjusting to his new environment. He goes potty outside and will also use potty pads inside. Joey prefers to sleep in the big bed right next to his person. He doesn’t show any signs of toy or food aggression, nor separation anxiety.
Joey is a happy, bouncy boy. He loves to empty the toy basket, spread them on the floor and play until he needs to recharge his batteries. He also likes to go for walks on a leash, go for car rides, and swim in the kiddie pool! Foster mom says he is a little picky with his food, but his favorite snack is mozzarella cheese. Joey LOVES toys but is not aggressive over them.
Adoptable Mix Joey – 1 year, 7 lbs.
This playful pup has a lot of energy to burn and an endless amount of love to give. He would do best in a home where his people are able to give him a lot of attention and playtime. We also think Joey would benefit from a furry brother or sister, since he seems to be thriving with his pack in his foster home. His sweet hazel eyes will melt your heart!
If you believe you could provide a safe and loving forever home for this dog, please fill out an application with the dogs’ name on it.
*Be advised, we have a couple of volunteers processing hundreds of applications. We are unable to call everyone back as we do not have ANY employees. Our dedicated volunteers and foster parents will check references of the applications that appear to be a good match. At that time, if you are chosen, we will contact you to arrange a home visit.
The adoption fee helps to cover costs, as each dog is fully vetted, and treated, as needed to prepare them to move forward in their new life. You pay no fee unless you are chosen to adopt.
