Adoptable Dachshund mix Coco is is a young, sweet, social, funny, outgoing, a bit on the thin side, nosey little girl. She loves to follow her humans around from room to room and even to the bathroom. Coco is a shadow in her foster home. She loves playing, running, and teasing the 2 dogs that live at her foster home.
A delivery driver in the Apollo beach area noticed Coco on the side of the road. He picked her up because she was dirty, underweight, and he was worried she would get hit by a car. He brought her home, cleaned her up, fed her, and took care of her for week while trying to find her family. Since he was moving and couldn’t take her with him, and had no luck finding the owners, he reached out to get her rescued.
Adoptable Dachshund Mix Coco
Coco doesn’t seem to have any fear around anything since she is still so young. The jury is out on whether she would get along with large dogs or cats. However, Coco loves everybody and shows no fear around anyone she meets. She greets with such enthusiasm along with a fast tail wag. Coco is working on being good on leash, but she will need more training.
Adoptable Dachshund Mix Coco is on her way to being potty trained. She should be let out regularly to avoid any accidents in the house. Coco isn’t trained to let her owner know when she needs to go potty but with time and patience, she should learn this trick.
She will go in her crate but she is reluctant with it, leaving the door open and putting a treat inside will help her see it as a place of comfort. Coco will sometimes use her bed, the couch, or your lap during the day for naps. She enjoys sleeping with her foster parents all night and would love to continue the tradition.
Coco loves playing with toys and also savors chews or bones. She also loves playing fetch and does a great job bringing the toy or object back every time! She is a grazer when it comes to her dog food but gets excited over a treat.
Coco loves riding in the car and likes to see where she is going. So far, Coco has shown zero signs of anxiety even when fireworks go off. Coco only barks when other dogs do. She completely ignores birds in her area. Since she is a shadow with her humans, she hasn’t yet been left alone so there may be some separation anxiety.
Adoptable Dachshund Mix Coco – 1 year – 8 lbs
Coco has had her Vet Check, 1 or more Vaccines, Spay or Neuter, Nails Trimmed, Flea
Treatments, Heart Worm testing, and Medication. Coco would do great with a family that has a young dog and children ages 8 and up. She would also do well with an active family that doesn’t have any other pets so her personality can really shine!
