Adoptable Dachshund Harlow is the typical dachshund as he is fun and loving being. It’s hard to believe this little guy is twelve years old! Harlow just loves being around people.
Harlow NEEDS a home where someone is home most of the day. He has destructive behavior if he is left home alone whether he is confined or has access to the whole house. He does not like crates at all. Harlow knows to use a doggy door when he needs to go out. Harlow walks well on a leash and enjoys walking. He may mark his territory in a new environment.
Adoptable Dachshund Harlow may try to hump other dogs to exhibit dominance but he is submissive about it. If they object, he will go away. He is not good with cats at all.
Harlow is food aggressive so he should be fed separately. Same goes for toys, although he really does not interested. Harlow loves to go with you in the car but needs some training on staying calm and obeying in the car. He will bark at other dogs as if he wants to make sure they are not a threat but does not snap or bark aggressively.
Adoptable Dachshund Harlow needs almost constant companionship. He will sit with a person all day on the couch as he craves attention and play. Harlow does not even come close to acting like a 12 year old, so be prepared for a 6 to 7 year old. He is very agile, and very active. He is a merciless beggar for people food, so he needs to be watched.
Adoptable Dachshund Harlow – 12 years – 14 lbs
Harlow has had his Vet Check, 1 or more Vaccines, Dental Exam, Medication (temporary – like for acute infection), Skin treatments/ infections, Nail Trim, Heart Worm testing and medication, Major Dental (cleaning and removal).

*Be advised, we have a couple of volunteers processing hundreds of applications. We are unable to call everyone back as we do not have ANY employees. Our dedicated volunteers and foster parents will check references of the applications that appear to be a good match. At that time, if you are chosen, we will contact you to arrange a home visit.
The adoption fee helps to cover costs, as each dog is fully vetted, and treated, as needed to prepare them to move forward in their new life. You pay no fee unless you are chosen to adopt.
