Adoptable Dachshund Bella was in a bad state when LRDR took her in from a shelter. Several large and small tumors had to be removed but now that she’s past all that, nothing keeps her down. Bella loves attention and loves to sit or lay with you.
At first, Bella was a Permanent Foster but now she wants a forever home where she’s the Queen and doesn’t have to share. Bella has been diagnosed with Cushing’s and will have to stay on medication. At her last checkup, her blood work showed she was doing great!
Adoptable Dachshund Bella had to share attention with 6 other dogs before she was rescued. She has become less tolerant as she’s gotten older, especially with the little old man (dachshund) at her foster’s. The only dog she engages with is a Bull Terrier.
Bella was around a cat at her foster’s. She would chase the cat, but never hurt her. If other dogs are gathered around eating, she will snap and has attacked more than one. If she has been introduced and knows the person/people, she’s good. However she has gone after shoes and pant legs. Bella doesn’t like strangers on her turf.
Adoptable Dachshund Bella – 11 years – 14 lbs
Adoptable Dachshund Bella had access to a large property with her fosters, so she didn’t go on walks. Bella does fine on a leash when going to the Vet. She expects to be in the big bed at night. If you’re not careful, she WILL jump off.
She had her Senior Vet Check, Medication (temporary – like for acute infection), Medication (permanent – like for seizure treatment), Major Surgery (such as cancer tumor removal), Nail Trim, Flea Treatments, Heart Worm testing and medication, Major Dental (cleaning and removal).
Bella is a typical dachshund. She barks when the other dogs bark and when she thinks something may be going on. Attention from her people is always on her mind as she believes she’s should be the center of it all, of course! This pretty girl’s ideal home is one where she is an only dog. Cats are ok, as long as they don’t mind being chased once in a while. Bella would enjoy a nice yard to patrol, leash-free. She needs someone who can give her love and attention along with her required medications.
If you believe you could provide a safe and loving forever home for this dog, please fill out an application with the dogs’ name on it.
*Be advised, we have a couple of volunteers processing hundreds of applications. We are unable to call everyone back as we do not have ANY employees. Our dedicated volunteers and foster parents will check references of the applications that appear to be a good match. At that time, if you are chosen, we will contact you to arrange a home visit.
The adoption fee helps to cover costs, as each dog is fully vetted, and treated, as needed to prepare them to move forward in their new life. You pay no fee unless you are chosen to adopt.
