Adoptable Dachshund Zowie is an easygoing versatile girl who thrives in her foster home. She enjoys short walks as she is a senior dog. Zowie gets along with all humans and other small dogs. She doesn’t have any experience with cats; however, her foster feels that once introduced carefully she would be good with them.

When Zowie first came to her foster family, she came right in and made herself right at home! She is not food aggressive with her siblings. Zowie eats her meals in their entirety, she isn’t a grazer at all. She came to her foster home with special calming treats, but showed no anxiety while there.

Zowie does have a history of anxiety with thunderstorms and she may benefit from her treats and/or a thunder-shirt. It would be good for her to be in a house with other dogs, as she just relaxes with her siblings if left alone.

Zowie does fantastic in the car and loves looking at her surroundings. She only barks at other dogs in neighboring yards but will stop on command. She’s very good about doing her business outside, and has not had any accidents in the house.

Zowie has been crate trained, but she enjoys sleeping in dog beds or with her owner. In summary, Zowie has proven to be a very adaptable girl who is just hoping to be adopted into a loving enduring forever family!

*Be advised, we have a couple of volunteers processing hundreds of applications. We are unable to call everyone back as we do not have ANY employees. Our dedicated volunteers and foster parents will check references of the applications that appear to be a good match. At that time, if you are chosen, we will contact you to arrange a home visit.

The adoption fee helps to cover costs, as each dog is fully vetted, and treated, as needed to prepare them to move forward in their new life. You pay no fee unless you are chosen to adopt.
