Harley David’s Son wasn’t son to anyone, but now he has both mom and dad in his brand new happy forever home.
Harley is a 6 1/2 yo, neutered male. He’s a long-haired black and tan, but his ears and tail are the only long hair he has on his long dachshund bod. He needs to lose a little bit of weight but he is just kind of a bigger boy. He has big paws!
He gets along with other dogs, but needed a home where there were no young children. Harley likes to walks great on a leash, is house trained, and sleeps in his bed at night. He’s a good boy in the car. He’s really a good boy everywhere, but despite that – he found himself in need of a home.
He loves to play with toys and enjoys destroying some of them, like many good dogs do. This big boy likes chew toys, but does not chew anything he’s not supposed to. He prefers people to dogs but also likes to see other dogs regularly.
Harley David’s Son
Harley is sweet and playful – likes to play fetch and chase lizards, but he had no home to call his own until Low Rider Dachshund Rescue of Florida took him in. Like we do for all our dachshunds and dachshund wanna-be’s, the volunteer team got to work.
Harley was seen by the vet to make sure he was up to date on his vaccines, had the medication he needed for seizures, and that all good dog things were in good dog order. He was cleaned and groomed, and even got a haircut. Harley is a pretty boy.
He was ready to find his forever home. Along came Sherri and David, who had filled out an application on the Low Rider site. They vowed to love Harley and to take good care of him. They seemed to be the perfect match for this special boy. Sherri and David underwent a home check and everything worked out well.
This is the story of how the once homeless, yet pretty boy, became Harley David’s Son. We received a message from Harley:
I have a new furever home! My new pet parents let me sit on the couch and watch TV with them. My Mom Sherri tried to take a selfie of us. We are sitting with my new Dad David. My name is Harley David’s son. I have lots of chew bones at my new home and I’m getting spoiled.
We’re so happy for Harley David’s Son, and Sherri’s Son too! Have a wonderful life with your new family. Low Rider Dachshund Rescue of Florida is always happy to help a good dog (and they’re all good dogs) find the right home.
If you have filled out an application to adopt a Low Rider dog – please be patient. We don’t have a staff, we have a team of volunteers. If you haven’t heard back from us after a week or two, please check your email and the spam folder.
