Adoptable Mix Milo

Adoptable Mix Milo is now PENDING ADOPTION – he’s a young 1 1/2 year old dachshund mix who weighs only 12 pounds. He barks when he plays and is still working on house training.

Milo shows some signs of separation anxiety, but is not timid or shy. He likes to play with other dogs, but can growl if they get close to his person. He needs to learn the difference between socialization and protecting his human. Time and training should do him wonders.

Although he enjoys the company of other dogs, he does not like cats. He should do fine with older kids and teens who have been trained to use proper care with dachshunds and rescues, but very small children under 5 would not be a good fit.

Milo enjoys going out for a walk but needs additional leash training. He tends to get overly excited and pull on the leash. There are techniques to help with this issue, and again, time and training should help.

Although he is not crate-trained, he does use a dog bed. Milo also enjoys sleeping in the bed cuddled up with his foster parents.

Milo likes being cuddled up in your lap. With time and patience, and of course, training – this handsome fella will make the right person or family very happy. He wants to please, he just needs the time and training to learn to improve his manners a bit.

*Be advised, we have a couple of volunteers processing hundreds of applications. We are unable to call everyone back as we do not have ANY employees. Our dedicated volunteers and foster parents will check references of the applications that appear to be a good match. At that time, if you are chosen, we will contact you to arrange a home visit.

The adoption fee helps to cover costs, as each dog is fully vetted, and treated, as needed to prepare them to move forward in their new life. You pay no fee unless you are chosen to adopt.
