Adoptable mix Lily is an exceptionally sweet one year old chihuahua doxie combo. She is very timid upon first meeting, but quickly decides she wants to be best friends with everyone she meets. She is great with dogs of all sizes and within three days of entering her foster home she decided it wasn’t so scary and that she loves to play. While she has playful spurts, Lily is a professional snuggler and Grade A napper.
Although she loves other dogs, both large and small, it is unknown how she feels about cats. She’s a sweet dog, so with a little training of both animals, she would likely be fine.
She has also not been around small children, but again, is a very sweet dog. If the child is supervised and taught to be calm and easy with her, she would likely adjust. Older kids would be fine.
Lily is great on walks and good on the leash. She is house trained and crate trained as well. She is comfortable using dog beds and sleeping in the big bed as well. Lily is a fantastic cuddle buddy!
With no signs of aggression, she is good with both food and toys. She enjoys car rides and is perfectly behaved during transport.
Lily is friendly with everyone but very timid. Slow introductions are necessary with her. We are working on socialization and have already seen tremendous progress.
Lily had no reaction to meeting our assortment of dogs and there have been several easy introductions.
Very shy at first, Lily hid from her foster parents the first day and a half but now follows them around the house and plays with their dogs. She just wants to be close to her human. She did growl when she first met her foster mom, but it was all show. Absolutely zero sign of aggression despite the timidness.
Lily has some signs of anxiety. Loud noises tend to scare her but she’s been fine during storms. It’s really more timidness upon initial meetings that it is anxiety.
Adoptable Mix Lily – 1+ yr. 15 pounds
Lily is a playful little pup who loves her cuddle time. She would love fur siblings to play with and a family of her own. As a young dog, she’ll need active people who will make sure she gets plenty of exercise. This little lady is sure to steal your heart!

*Be advised, we have a couple of volunteers processing hundreds of applications. We are unable to call everyone back as we do not have ANY employees. Our dedicated volunteers and foster parents will check references of the applications that appear to be a good match. At that time, if you are chosen, we will contact you to arrange a home visit.
The adoption fee helps to cover costs, as each dog is fully vetted, and treated, as needed to prepare them to move forward in their new life. You pay no fee unless you are chosen to adopt.
