Adoptable mix Brewster is the perfect little gentleman! He is a smart boy of only six years old who enjoys other small dogs and even some larger calm dogs. Very young children would make him nervous, but kids over 12 should be fine.
Brewster is crazy about playing ball and will fetch it over and over again! Toys are one of his favorite pastimes and he will become your best friend quickly if he knows you are there to play with him!
Through Low Rider, he has received a full Vet Check, 1 or more Vaccines, Nails Trimmed, Flea Treatments, Heart Worm testing and preventative medication.
He’s not an excessive barker as he mostly barks initially when a stranger enters the house. Other times he may issue a low growl when he hears noises outside. He is making sure to keep the house safe for his people. It doesn’t take much to calm him and let him know everything is just fine.
Showing no big signs of anxiety, thunderstorms don’t bother him, but fireworks certainly do! New situations may bother him, certain noises, and people initially coming into the house. Again, he is learning to be calm when told all is well.
Brewster will show some signs of being a bit shy, but nothing very extreme. He has learned to LOVE it when his foster mom’s friends come to visit and he is crazy about going to the dog park to visit! This shy guy is actually pretty social.
We were told he doesn’t like crates and his foster mom has had no reason to crate him. He sleeps in his dog bed or on a chair in the family room. This smart boy is house broken and loves both play time in the yard as well as going for walks. AND he REALLY REALLY loves his toys!
Adoptable Mix Brewster – 6 yrs, 17 lbs.
He is friendly at dog park meting new people now but still needs to get to know a stranger who enters the house. His foster is working with him on “go to your place” and expects him to do better and better with consistency.
He was very anxious when his foster first got him but now he seems to enjoy a ride, maybe cuz he knows he is going to the dog park–usually! Keeping a soft ball in the car for him to chew does a good job of relieving anxiety. He has learned to enjoy car rides!
It’s important that he continue to be active and that his new people keep working to help him lose a little weight. It will be important as he ages and will help him stay fit and healthy!
Brewster is a loveable, well behaved, potty trained, quick learner and a very social dog. He thinks my friends come to visit and play with HIM! He whines to let his person know his needs–potty, food, play, etc. He likes to cuddle especially just before bedtime. Chewing on a toy relaxes him. He loves to play fetch and tug. The back yard and especially the dog park are his favorite places. He is working on “go to your PLACE” when strangers (especially men) enter the house. Once a person is seated he seems to calm down. Brewster is a very good boy who would love a yard to play in and is hoping for visits to the dog park or maybe some neighborhood friends to play with.
If you believe you could provide a safe and loving forever home for this dog, please fill out an application with the dogs’ name on it.
*Be advised, we have a couple of volunteers processing hundreds of applications. We are unable to call everyone back as we do not have ANY employees. Our dedicated volunteers and foster parents will check references of the applications that appear to be a good match. At that time, if you are chosen, we will contact you to arrange a home visit.
The adoption fee helps to cover costs, as each dog is fully vetted, and treated, as needed to prepare them to move forward in their new life. You pay no fee unless you are chosen to adopt.
