Adoptable Mix Benny is an adorable one year old dog who enjoys walking with his person. He’s still very puppy-like and will benefit from additional training and socialization but is a sweet and fun little guy who prefers to be an “only-child.”
During long walks with his foster, he pulls a good bit on the harness in his excitement. He also barks at people and other dogs along the way. He generally settles down once he knows someone is not a threat.
House trained, crate trained, and good on the leash, he is a sweet boy! He’s not food or toy aggressive and does well riding in the car. His foster mom has noted that he does best in the crate with a dog bed in place.
Benny is also not terribly fond of cats. He barks at them and his fur goes up. He will do best in a home without cats and most likely, as an only dog. If he does go to a home with another dog, it will be imperative that they are highly experienced and are willing to go the distance with patience and training.
In our care he received: Vet Check, 1 or more Vaccines, Dental Exam, Spay or Neuter, Nails Trimmed, Flea Treatments, Heart Worm testing and prevention medication, and microchip.

Benny is a sweet dog who is very puppy-like! He loves to run and play with toys. He needs to chew so he is often gnawing on his Nylabones. He snuggles in bed at night with his human. He stays in a crate when his human isn’t home due to some separation anxiety in which his boredom leads him to chew things.
He enjoys going on long walks but will bark at other humans and animals. He is able to warm up to humans after he builds some trust. It is unclear how he would be with other animals as he barks at them and his fur goes up on his back. He would be best as an only animal and not around small children. Just got neutered so it’s quite possible he will be a little more calm but he’s a fun dog! Adoption fee is $300

*Be advised, we have a couple of volunteers processing hundreds of applications. We are unable to call everyone back as we do not have ANY employees. Our dedicated volunteers and foster parents will check references of the applications that appear to be a good match. At that time, if you are chosen, we will contact you to arrange a home visit.
The adoption fee helps to cover costs, as each dog is fully vetted, and treated, as needed to prepare them to move forward in their new life. You pay no fee unless you are chosen to adopt.
