Adoptable dachshund Stormy is the most loyal pup you’ll ever meet. She will truly be your best friend. She loves cuddling and car rides. She went camping in an RV with her foster family and had a blast.
House trained, Stormy does need to go out an hour after eating to avoid an accident. She loves to go for walks and is good on the leash.
This little sweetheart is good with kids and people of all ages. Her best buddy is currently a 4-year old child who she cuddles with and plays chase with in the back yard.
Stormy enjoys sitting in a doggy bike trailer to go for a bike ride. She loves sun bathing in the grass, tennis balls, and ALL treats of any kind! Stormy will be your best friend if you give her belly rubs and enjoys hanging out with her humans during movie nights. Stormy is best suited for someone that will be home to give her company as she does not like to be left alone.
She does have separation anxiety and will do good in a home where she will always have someone there but is not an excessive barker. She cannot not be left in a room alone. Crating is recommended if she is left alone. Stormy does seem to like her crate as a safe space.
She enjoys the company of other dogs. Large or small dogs are fine with her! Stormy is very weary of humans at first and will bark until she’s comfortable around them. Once she is comfortable she will cuddle up. Introductions and treats can be very helpful when a visitor arrives. It is unknown as to how she will respond with cats, but if they are used to standing their ground, it’s not likely she would chase.
In our care she has received: Vet Check, 1 or more Vaccines, Dental Exam, Nails Trimmed, Flea Treatments, Heart Worm testing and medication. She takes no ongoing medication and has shown no signs of medical conditions.
