Adoptable Dachshund Sparky - Adopted - Low Rider Dachshund Rescue of Florida

Adoptable dachshund Sparky is a young dog at heart. You’d never know he is eight years old! His playful spirit will keep you busy during the day. He prefers to play outdoors with the water hose. He likes to chase the water! His forever home must have the time and energy to keep up with his playful antics.

Sparky also enjoys spending time on the couch by his people. He loves receiving pets and is becoming more and more affectionate by the day. Foster mom believes Sparky might not of had the most attentive home life before becoming a Low Rider. He is still learning to be called by his name.

Big dogs and small dogs are ok with Sparky. We are unsure how he is around cats, however, foster mom believes he’d be ok with them due to his laid-back personality. Sparky is friendly meeting new people. It is important to note that Sparky is uncomfortable being picked up. We believe it would be best for Sparky to not be around small children unattended because of this.

Walks and car rides are a few of his favorite things to do! Sparky is adventurous and ready for fun. He gets excited when he sees his leash and will try to sneak his way into the car!

At home, he doesn’t have any anxiety when left alone. Sparky is house trained; however, he still occasionally marks on furniture and walls. His forever family will need to work on this with him. Sparky sleeps anywhere in the home and loves when it is time to eat! We can’t wait to find the perfect home for this well deserving boy.

*Be advised, we have a couple of volunteers processing hundreds of applications. We are unable to call everyone back as we do not have ANY employees. Our dedicated volunteers and foster parents will check references of the applications that appear to be a good match. At that time, if you are chosen, we will contact you to arrange a home visit.

The adoption fee helps to cover costs, as each dog is fully vetted, and treated, as needed to prepare them to move forward in their new life. You pay no fee unless you are chosen to adopt.
