Although he walks well on a leash, at 15 years of age, he is a bit slow and requires patience. Short walks are fine. He gets tired. A nice fenced in yard would probably be a great thing for him.

Riley gets a little excited around other dogs. He is very gentle. He really loves the ladies, so girl dogs might get a little more attention than they want.

He is fully house trained. He warns you by going to the door, if you don’t get there in time he will go in front of the door because of his age. Riley tries really hard and having someone around to pay close attention to his trips to the door will prevent any accidents.

Riley will sleep in a crate, but he prefers to be under the bed. Sometimes, he will sleep on the bed with his fosters, but really likes to be under it. Although, he has been known to give a quiet growl warning to protect his food from other dogs, he is NOT food or toy aggressive. He has a very sweet nature.

Car rides are a pleasure for this boy! He enjoys it, but must be watched because he will jump down to the floor. He needs help up to the seat and should be leashed so he cannot jump down.

Riley is a love bug who likes everyone he meets, dogs and people. He doesn’t have any signs of separation anxiety or shyness. He is fine if he is left out in the open. But will make his opinion known if he is locked up.

He has problems with stairs, so will need a lift if stairs are involved. He has dry eye and needs drops twice a day, he is really good about getting his drops. He also takes Apoquel for allergies.

Sir Riley is an absolute sweetheart. He loves to be inside with those that love him. He loves food, and makes little sounds if his food is not ready when he is. He loves to sit on the couch and get ear rubs and butt scratches. He plays fetch but tires out after a few throws. This beautiful senior needs a home where he can live out his days with love – he has plenty to give!
