Adoptable Dachshund Riley – Adopted

Adoptable Dachshund Riley

Adoptable Dachshund Riley is such a sweetheart! Everything makes her happy such as treats and squeaky toys!  She won’t tear them apart as she enjoys the squeaky sounds. Instead, they tend to remain intact and could be anywhere and even under blankets!

Riley loves nothing better than to be in a lap or snuggled up beside her owner to sleep; however, Riley also loves riding in a car and makes a great traveling companion!  She enjoys accompanying her foster to Home Depot, sitting up proudly in the shopping cart.  Riley walks well with a harness. She is very submissive so a home with no children is preferable.  Riley should be carefully introduced to visitors so she won’t be skittish around them.

Riley sleeps well in her own bed, and she has used a crate at her Foster home.  She has done well with large dogs, small dogs, and cats as she barks right alongside other dogs in the house.  She doesn’t show any signs of separation anxiety. Riley provided comfort to a disabled child in her prior home.

Riley is a tad overweight and should continue on a diet. She shows no food aggression around other dogs. Riley will go to the door to go out and scratch to come back in. She should be let out frequently to do her business in order to avoid an accident in her home.

Riley has recently had her Senior Vet checkup. She received 1 or more vaccinations, eye medication (temporary – she had an acute eye infection), skin infection treatment, nail trim, flea treatments, and heartworm testing.

Her ideal home includes at least ONE other dog and a couple or single person who loves to hang out with her.  She needs a person to be her best buddy and to devote as much love to them as they desire!

If you believe you could provide a safe and loving forever home for this dog, please fill out an application with the dogs’ name on it.

*Be advised, we have a couple of volunteers processing hundreds of applications. We are unable to call everyone back as we do not have ANY employees. Our dedicated volunteers and foster parents will check references of the applications that appear to be a good match. At that time, if you are chosen, we will contact you to arrange a home visit.

The adoption fee helps to cover costs, as each dog is fully vetted, and treated, as needed to prepare them to move forward in their new life. You pay no fee unless you are chosen to adopt.
