Adoptable Dachshund Mix Winnie is a sweet girl who just wants to be loved. She takes some time to feel safe and comfortable, but once she does, she will melt your heart. Her adoptive family must have patience in building trust with Winnie. Her past life has left her cautious and unsure of new people and surroundings.
Winnie is seven years old and currently takes medication for some skin issues. She is seventeen pounds, not too big and not too small! She enjoys going to walks and doesn’t mind car rides.
Winnie does not care for thunderstorms. She does bark and has some anxious tendencies and is apprehensive about meeting new people. Winnie does like to gobble her food up fast and try to sneak others, so she needs to be monitored when fed with other dogs.
In our care she has received Vet Check, Dental Exam, Medication (temporary – like for acute infection), Minor Surgery (such as removal of benign cyst), Nails Trimmed, Heart Worm testing and medication, Major Dental (cleaning and removal). Winnie has sensitive skin. Any assistance you can offer in covering our vetting expenses is greatly appreciated!

Winnie doesn’t mind other dogs in the home once she has warmed up to them. She does not care for cats. We are unsure of how Winnie is around small children, however, we assume she would be best around older kids that she could trust. Do you have a safe, nurturing home for sweet girl Winnie? *Be advised, we have a couple of volunteers processing hundreds of applications. We are unable to call everyone back as we do not have ANY employees. Our dedicated volunteers and foster parents will check references of the applications that appear to be a good match. At that time, if you are chosen, we will contact you to arrange a home visit.
The adoption fee helps to cover costs, as each dog is fully vetted, and treated, as needed to prepare them to move forward in their new life. You pay no fee unless you are chosen to adopt.
