Adoptable dachshund mix Indy is now Pending Adoption! Indy gets along great with his foster sisters. He initiates play with them and participates if they initiate. He sniffs others appropriately and backs off when he needs to. Indy checks other dogs out and allows them to do the same. At just 5 years old, he is a delightfully well-mannered companion!
Indy weighs 16.4 pounds, loves being outside, and walks well on a leash. He’s good on an individual leash and on a double leash with a buddy. Indy walks at an appropriate pace, keeps up with others, but does not push to always lead. This guy needs a home where he can enjoy his outdoor walks, stay healthy, and perhaps play with a friend or an adopted sibling.

This little guy could be the perfect addition to any dachshund-ish loving home. He’s always on his best behavior and enjoys people and dogs alike. He is an easy going buddy and friend to all!
Indy does well sleeping in his crate with his foster sister. He also does well in his crate while foster parents are out of the house. So he’s both housebroken and crate trained.
He doesn’t cry, whine, bark, shake, or scratch. Indy shows no signs of anxiety. Noises don’t seem to bother him in the least. Although, it remains to be seen as to how he will handle a severe thunderstorms or fireworks.
He’s not shy at all, but neither is he aggressive. As a matter of fact, he is excellent at sharing toys and food with his foster sisters.
This delightful dachshund mix is very calm and relaxed in the car. He does not walk around and is quick to take advantage of the time for a nap. Again, he’s an anxiety-free, laid back kind of guy! You’ll not find any excessive barking with this dachshund mix, but he does enjoy joining in the fun when his foster pals get started.
Indy is the most affectionate dog you can ever meet! He is best friends with everyone he comes across and has a perpetually wagging tail. Indy likes to give everyone kisses and won’t stop until you tell him to! He is also a wonderful cuddler and likes to be in your lap when possible. Belly scratches are a big favorite, and he likes to roll around in blankets to make sure you can see his belly. Running in the yard and playing with his foster siblings makes him happy. We think a multi-dog house will probably serve him best, but he also does well on his own.
He is very well mannered, and is a calm, and a loving boy. This little bundle has so much love to give!
