Lucy is a sweet and loving girl who likes the simplicity of being with her people. She is a velcro dog through and through. Lucy loves to sleep in the big bed next to you. She will stay there all night. Lucy will curl up on the couch and watch tv with you, follow you outside, and even jump on your lap in the car.
When left alone in the home, Lucy has high anxiety. She will start to cry right away. She also has storm anxiety and needs to be by her person during thunderstorms. Lucy would benefit from an environment where she is not left home alone often. We believe it would be helpful if she had a furry brother or sister to help reduce some of her separation anxiety.
Lucy has lived with a male dog in her previous home and is currently living with two dogs in her foster home. She gets along well with them and does fine when meeting new dogs. She does show some caution at first, but after the sniff and greet is over, Lucy will be fine and continue about her day.
In the home she isn’t shy or timid, rather quiet and likes to do her own thing as long as she knows where her person is. She is crate trained if necessary but prefers not to go in the crate. Her original owner would walk her on leash and we believe she would continue to do so. She is house trained and will even let you know that she needs to go outside.
Adoptable Dachshund Lucy – 6 yrs, 11 lbs
Foster mom describes Lucy as sweet, calm and loving. She doesn’t show any aggressive behaviors towards other dogs. Lucy has not been around cats in her foster home; however, foster mom believes she would ignore the cat. She likes to meet new people and is an easy dog to have around, as long as her person is there. At six years old, Lucy has much love to give and we can’t wait to find her the perfect home. Adoption fee $300
If you believe you could provide a safe and loving forever home for this dog, please fill out an application with the dogs’ name on it.
*Be advised, we have a couple of volunteers processing hundreds of applications. We are unable to call everyone back as we do not have ANY employees. Our dedicated volunteers and foster parents will check references of the applications that appear to be a good match. At that time, if you are chosen, we will contact you to arrange a home visit.
The adoption fee helps to cover costs, as each dog is fully vetted, and treated, as needed to prepare them to move forward in their new life. You pay no fee unless you are chosen to adopt.
