Adoptable Dachshund Kai is a beautiful purebred, black and silver, long hair, dapple dachshund. He has AKC registration papers and was purchased from a breeder. He is so affectionate and loves to snuggle in your lap or play with his toys. Kai looks bigger than he is because he has so much beautiful soft fur. He is one terrific dog!
Kai gets along with other dogs and children. He sleeps well in a crate along with another dog. Kai prefers blankets (instead of a dog bed) to nap during the day. He is a great watch dog. Kai barks loudly at new people but loves to snuggle in anybody’s lap. He is not a one person dog.
Adoptable Dachshund Kai likes his food and toys. He will get up on a chair and take food off the table if left out. Kai needs more training as he tends to pull on a leash. He does not bark more than most dachshunds, but still needs work on the “quiet” command. He is eager to please and is a smart boy.
Kai should be monitored for his weight. This little guy needs additional exercise. He used to swim with his previous owner, who passed away. He doesn’t have separation anxiety, but barks like crazy when his foster returns. Losing his owner suddenly may have caused the anxiety, but he has settled in nicely with his foster.
Kai has had an Adult Vet Check, 1 or more Vaccines, and a Dental Exam.
Adoptable Dachshund Kai – 5 yrs – 17 lbs
Although it’s not a requirement for his adoption, his ideal home would have a pool and active people who are home with him a good bit. Additionally, he will benefit from someone who either has a good understanding of a few training basics, or is willing to learn. This beautiful loving little guy is ready to find his forever home where he can snuggle up and offer the love and comfort he desires!
If you believe you could provide a safe and loving forever home for this dog, please fill out an application with the dogs’ name on it.
*Be advised, we have a couple of volunteers processing hundreds of applications. We are unable to call everyone back as we do not have ANY employees. Our dedicated volunteers and foster parents will check references of the applications that appear to be a good match. At that time, if you are chosen, we will contact you to arrange a home visit.
The adoption fee helps to cover costs, as each dog is fully vetted, and treated, as needed to prepare them to move forward in their new life. You pay no fee unless you are chosen to adopt.
