Adoptable Dachshund Dauchy is such a sweetheart, he’s an amazing companion. He is very active and will want to play fetch all day. He’s been a hit with kids and he loves them right back!
Dauchy gets along well with other small dogs but hasn’t been observed around other big dogs. It is also unknown as to how he reacts to cats. He isn’t fond of being left alone and will tend to bark for a while when alone.
With no excessive barking noted, he has an adorable little bark that his foster mommy says he doesn’t use often. Thunder may startle him, but he doesn’t show signs of anxiety – except when left alone.
Dauchy is a people person! While he’s friendly with other dogs, he LOVES meeting people and easily wins the hearts of all.
He enjoys time in the car and is very calm during car rides. He will try to sit on your lap and nap there while you’re driving. While Daunchy LOVES his food, he is not an aggressive dog.
He loves to cuddle next to his human during sleep time! And during nap time he likes to be in close proximity with his foster sister. Crate trained, he has done fine in the crate, but it isn’t needed. He has enjoyed free roaming in his foster home.
House trained, Dauchy goes out in the yard about four times per day. He might have an occasional accident, but it isn’t often. Speaking of yard, he LOVES to play fetch in the yqrd and enjoys walks. He’s good on the leash, as well.
In our care they have received: Vet Check, Medication (temporary – like for acute infection), Heart Worm testing and medication. He has a skin condition, the vet recommended a medicated bath every 72 hours and some medication. He seems to respond to it well on some spots on his body. The spots on his tail and leg need a bit more work and time. *Could benefit from dental cleaning (within about 6 months), labs were good, getting skin condition being treated.
Every dog who is rescued by Low Rider is fully vetted and receives the care they need to gain a new “leash” on life! If you can assist with vetting expenses, it is greatly appreciated!

Adoptable dachshund Dauchy is highly intelligent – he knows how to sit, stay, come, and fetch the ball. Although a senior, this boy often acts more like a young pup! He will fetch the ball all day long! He is super sweet and loving, he loves to cuddle when it’s time to sleep. He is calm around other dogs and children. Dauchy just wants to be loved and is searching for a pawrent who is home most of the time . . . . Adoption fee $200

*Be advised, we have a couple of volunteers processing hundreds of applications. We are unable to call everyone back as we do not have ANY employees. Our dedicated volunteers and foster parents will check references of the applications that appear to be a good match. At that time, if you are chosen, we will contact you to arrange a home visit.
The adoption fee helps to cover costs, as each dog is fully vetted, and treated, as needed to prepare them to move forward in their new life. You pay no fee unless you are chosen to adopt.
