Adoptable Dachshund Byron is the sweetest, most perfect dog ever fostered. He likes to follow his foster around and he’s a champion tail wagger. Any family would be lucky to have Byron be a part of their family. He likes a quieter home and he would love a retired person or someone who’s home a lot so he can hang out.
Byron took about 3 days to feel comfortable in his foster home. He needs quiet and patience but soon fits right in. He needs calm surroundings, he’s shy and does better with adults. Byron gets along with small, quiet dogs but is afraid of larger dogs. He doesn’t have any experience with cats.
Adoptable Dachshund Byron loves walks, and he needs exercise to keep his weight down. He is potty trained, and has never had an accident. Byron sleeps in his own bed right next to his foster’s bed. He loves riding in a car; however, he wants to be in a lap so he needs a restraint.
Byron is shy and will bark but he’s totally docile with everyone. He does have a fatty bump on his tummy but it’s harmless. He loves to eat so he needs to maintain the proper amount of food to keep his weight down, along with exercise. Byron doesn’t have separation anxiety, but will squeal a little and wag his tail with happiness when his owner gets home. He can also give gentle kisses.
Adoptable Dachshund Byron – 13 years – 18 lbs
Adoptable Dachshund Byron had his Senior Vet Check, 1 or more Vaccines, Dental Exam, Spay or Neuter, Nails Trimmed, Flea Treatments, Heart Worm testing and medication, Major Dental (cleaning and removal). The fatty tumor on his tummy was evaluated, and it’s harmless.
Although he is a senior dog, he is energetic and in terrific health according to his vet checks! Byron’s ideal home would be with a single person, couple, or family with older kids who maintain a calm and nurturing atmosphere. With attention to his food intake, exercise and fresh air, and plenty of love – Byron can live happily ever after with his new family.

*Be advised, we have a couple of volunteers processing hundreds of applications. We are unable to call everyone back as we do not have ANY employees. Our dedicated volunteers and foster parents will check references of the applications that appear to be a good match. At that time, if you are chosen, we will contact you to arrange a home visit.
The adoption fee helps to cover costs, as each dog is fully vetted, and treated, as needed to prepare them to move forward in their new life. You pay no fee unless you are chosen to adopt.
