Adoptable Dachshund Babbee

Adoptable Dachshund Babbee, a 6 year old looking for her forever family! She has been loving her foster home but she is now ready to find her forever home.

Adoptable Dachshund Babbee

Babbee does well co-existing with other small dogs. She does not do well with dogs that get in her face, but she doesn’t mind calmer dogs that tend to keep to themselves like she does. We are unsure how Babbee would do with big dogs and we don’t believe she would do well with cats. Her experience with cats so far has been that she runs away from them. Babbee would not do well with young children due to the amount of energy they have, but she would do great with children around 12 and older.

Babbee will require an adopter who is willing to dedicate time and effort into furthering her training. As of now, walking while leashed is not one of her favorite activities. Her foster mom does try walking around the neighborhood with her, but she would prefer to turn around and head back to the house as soon as she can. Babbee does, however, absolutely adore being in the backyard and getting some sun! A home with a fenced in backyard will be ideal for little Babbee.

Babbee is fully house trained! She will require further training with the crate if her adopter chooses to utilize crate training. Being in the crate seems to stress Babbee out. Babbee loves sleeping in her dog beds! In her foster home, she will sleep during the night either on the couch or on her bed right next to her human’s big bed. She also loves to sit near her people during the day and take a nap! Babbee has shown no food or toy aggression in her foster home.

Babbee doesn’t bark too often, only when someone is repeatedly knocking at the door or there are things going on outside the house, in the yard. She doesn’t have separation anxiety, however she does have a short period (about a week in her foster home) where it would really upset her when her foster mom left. Babbee came to Low Rider after her human mother passed away, so we can only assume that Babbee may have some trust issues as a result. We know with the right adopters her heart will be healed in no time! In her foster home, she was totally fine being left alone once she learned that her foster mom would always come back to her.

*Be advised, we have a couple of volunteers processing hundreds of applications. We are unable to call everyone back as we do not have ANY employees. Our dedicated volunteers and foster parents will check references of the applications that appear to be a good match. At that time, if you are chosen, we will contact you to arrange a home visit.

The adoption fee helps to cover costs, as each dog is fully vetted, and treated, as needed to prepare them to move forward in their new life. You pay no fee unless you are chosen to adopt.
