Dachshunds Murphy and Millie

Their affectionate nature and playful spirit make them ideal companions for families, singles, or seniors. Adopting these two means gaining not just pets, but loyal friends who will fill your days with warmth and happiness!

Millie

Millie and Murphy have done great with other dogs while in their foster home. They have to sniff unfamiliar dogs for a few moments, and then they are totally fine with them. They aren’t crazy about super high energy dogs and dogs who don’t respect their personal space, but they’d do fine in a home with another low energy pup.
They do great with the bigger dog in their foster home, they love laying with him and just spending time with him. They have exhibited a high prey drive when it comes to cats, so they cannot go to a home with cats.

Murphy

They have done amazing with children (a 5 year old and a 10 year old) while in their foster home, so we believe they would do great in a forever home where there are children. These two are very friendly and calm, making them an ideal addition to any feline-free home.

Murph

Millie and Murphy enjoy a short stroll around the neighborhood and both do great on leash. They are house trained and pee pad trained. They will generally go outside but if there is not someone to let them outside when they need to go, they know to use the pee pads. They are crate trained and do not mind being in the crate at all. They love their dog beds and while they will occasionally sleep with their foster parents, they actually prefer being snuggled up together on a dog bed for bedtime. They have shown no signs of food or toy aggression while in their foster home.

Millie

Millie really likes car rides, but it seems like Murphy can get a bit nauseous during a ride in the car. They are very friendly when it comes to meeting new people as long as the people are gentle and quiet with them, they will get very shy and scared of loud noises when it comes to meeting new people and going to new places.

They are both very friendly when it comes to meeting new dogs after a quick sniff! Neither pup shows signs of separation anxiety, they do not mind their alone time at all as long as they are alone together.
