Dachshund Mix Isaac – Pending Adoption

Dachshund mix Isaac is an adorable fella and a really sweet guy! If his ears don’t win you over, his sweet disposition will.

Dachshund Mix Isaac

He’s shy and may take a bit to warm up but once he trusts you, he’s happy to be a sidekick. He loves naps but also loves sniffing and exploring in the yard. He has a funny personality and will prance around for attention. He’s a cuddle bug and can lay on the couch for hours too. He learns very quickly and adapts to new house rules.

Dachshund Mix Isaac

He’s good on a leash and on walks. Isaac needs work walking alone on a leash but he does well when walking with a pack. He is house trained and crate trained. Initially on intake, he had a few accidents in the house but he eased into his new surroundings and routine very well.

Dachshund Mix Isaac

Isaac uses both a dog bed and sleeps with his fosters. As a matter of fact, he has become accustomed to sleeping in his dog bed with his fosters!

Dachshund Mix Isaac

He loves food but doesn’t really care for toys. Isaac is friendly when meeting new people. He has been good with children and when meeting other small dogs. It is unknown as to how he will do with cats or big dogs.

Dachshund Mix Isaac

Isaac is missing 11 teeth but he can still eat; soft food is the best for him. He will bark a lot when home alone and gets startled by most loud noises including thunder. Even with these signs of some anxiety, Isaac’s foster mom does not consider his barking excessive.

In our care he has received: Vet Check, 1 or more Vaccines, Dental Exam, Medication (temporary – like for acute infection), Nails Trimmed, Heart Worm testing and medication, Major Dental (cleaning and removal)
