Buddy is a 6 year old, 16 pound dachshund and possibly Jack Russell cutie pie! This dachshund mix Buddy for adoption enjoys going for walks and loves running along beside a bicycle. If you like throwing ball and playing in the yard, Buddy will be your best friend. He even brings the ball back to you!

He’s a young dog, and therefore has plenty of energy for an active lifestyle. He does like to chase cats and squirrels, and is quick to go after them so, an experienced dog owner would be a benefit to help teach him to restrain his chasing impulse.
Buddy is fully house trained and goes outside and quickly gets down to business! He wastes no extra time on such things as he is much more interested in loving and having fun.
He likes other dogs and generally does well, but because he has a strong personality, he will likely do best in a home where someone with experience will be patient in teaching him a few things. He’s recently been fixed and has been fully vetted. We believe he will likely do best with children over 12 in the home.
This little guy really likes scratches and belly rubs. He’ll soak up all the attention and affection you can give him!
Buddy adjusted very quickly to sleeping in dog beds next to foster siblings. His previous owner says that the command “go home” will tell him to get in his crate. Although, now that he’s had a taste of the good life, sleeping alongside foster siblings, he might need some time for readjustment. Also, he’s such a loving fella, he would probably prefer sleeping in the bed, right there with his humans!
The perfect home for a guy like Buddy would be one where there is a nice yard for playing ball and an owner who will enjoy the outdoors with him. He loves running, so someone who runs or bikes would be a terrific fit. He would also enjoy a sibling who can be patient as he adjusts to his new home.
Buddy has plenty of love to give. He wakes up happy to see his family members and loves to be close to you. He’s a snuggler and once he feels secure, you will have a “Buddy” for life. He is an active and loving dachshund mix who can add joy to your home for years to come.
