Adoptable Mix Toby is a joy to have around. He has the cutest small face and at times appears to be smiling! Toby loves to be with his person and has some separation anxiety when separated so another dog in the home is a must. He settled in with his foster mom right away and snuggles up with foster siblings too.
He does not want his foster mom to leave and sometimes cries, but he will settle down. Toby does not tear up anything and does not have to take medication for this, he does however, have a prescription of trazodone & zylkene for his fear of fireworks. He needs to be in a home with at least one other dog for company to help him with this. We’re not sure how he will do in bad weather. He has settled into getting along with his foster siblings very quickly and is fond of cuddling up with them and playing too.
As far as his anxious side, Toby waits to make sure all is ok and then he relaxes. He sucks/chews on a made ‘stuffed’ toy until he feels safe. Toby will do this when he runs into bedroom after being outside; he does it for a few minutes and then goes to sleep.
Toby was found in the middle of 4 lane traffic and how long a stray we do not know, therefore, he could have developed anxiety because of his situation. With time and patience, he should learn more coping techniques and feel more calm. He does not bark excessively and certainly is worth the effort!
Toby is completely housebroken! He likes to go for walks and car rides; he also minds very well. Toby will be a great companion as he is a love bug!

*Be advised, we have a couple of volunteers processing hundreds of applications. We are unable to call everyone back as we do not have ANY employees. Our dedicated volunteers and foster parents will check references of the applications that appear to be a good match. At that time, if you are chosen, we will contact you to arrange a home visit.
The adoption fee helps to cover costs, as each dog is fully vetted, and treated, as needed to prepare them to move forward in their new life. You pay no fee unless you are chosen to adopt.
