Adoptable Dog Xenia

Now Pending Adoption! Adoptable dog Xenia is an adorable 2 year old, 11pound sweetheart! She has small and medium sized fur-siblings with whom she gets along easily. It’s unknown, at this time, exactly how she responds to cats.

Xenia likes all people, big or small. She would likely do fine kids, under supervision. It’s important that very young children are trained and supervised around animals, especially such a small dog, like Xenia.

Although good on the leash, she pulls until she gets some of her energy out. With time and practice, this should improve. Xenia is doing well with house training, but needs to go out every 4-6 hours.

She is potty trained as long as you let her out regularly. She likes to get her business over with quickly, so she can go investigate the yard. If she gets out on a regular basis, she will settle down inside the house and look for someone’s lap to take a nap on. She’s also learning to use the doggie door.

This pup is a snuggle bug, she likes to sleep with the humans. she gets under the covers and goes all the way to the bottom of the bed and sleeps there the whole night.

There have been no signs of food aggression, and so far she hasn’t been interested in toys. Xenia enjoys car rides but shows some signs of anxiety when going to new places in a car. When the Bucs won and are headed to the super bowl, fireworks going off in the neighborhood, didn’t even phase her.

When meeting new dogs, she is cautious at first, until the sniffing of each other is over. She then relaxes and enjoys them. Easy to get along with, enjoys people and dogs, smart and well-behaved – she’s a wonderful little dog!

Xenia is a sweet, high energy, happy little dog! She loves being outside with her fur brother and fur sister or with her humans and will stay outside as long as they do. She never sits still when outside! If given the chance, she will occasionally look for a spot to dig. Xenia almost always has a smile on her face. When her fosters are working in the office, she likes to take a nap near their feet. Xenia is looking for an active family, who likes to be outside. She would enjoy having a fur brother or fur sister who would like to play with her.

*Be advised, we have a couple of volunteers processing hundreds of applications. We are unable to call everyone back as we do not have ANY employees. Our dedicated volunteers and foster parents will check references of the applications that appear to be a good match. At that time, if you are chosen, we will contact you to arrange a home visit.

The adoption fee helps to cover costs, as each dog is fully vetted, and treated, as needed to prepare them to move forward in their new life. You pay no fee unless you are chosen to adopt.
