Adoptable Dachshund Zeke – Adopted

Adoptable Dachshund Zeke is now PENDING ADOPTION! He’s a very loving dog, as long as you are down at his level. Sitting or laying on the floor with him is the best way to spend time. Zeke is a single dog who needs to remain a single dog with someone who is home with him regularly.

Zeke has high anxiety issues, but his best time is after a meal. He loves meal time and 3 meals a day would be great for him! Even with medication, his anxiety is off the charts. He runs in circles whining or barking when upset. He has meds that must be taken daily and not missed.

Zeke

Zeke definitely needs to go to a home where someone is home to work with him patiently and has had experience with a highly anxious dog. Adopters must have a crate (or be willing to get one) for him as that is his safe haven. Whenever he is anxious as soon as he goes in his crate he relaxes. He prefers to sleep in his crate, he will get up on furniture and bed but doesn’t stay long. He’s an independent little dog who needs time to trust people.

Adopt Zeke

Although a fenced yard is not necessary as he prefers to go out with a human, it is important that he takes plenty of walks, which he enjoys. This little guy is good on a leash!

He is almost house trained but has to be taken out frequently. At night he wears belly bands without taking them off. He stays calm in a crate, otherwise, he howls when left alone.

Zeke

When meeting new people he isn’t overly friendly until he has a chance to warm up to them. He like cats, but mostly ignores his foster cat buddy unless he decides to chase her for a minute. Zeke likes other dogs fine, but as an independent little guy, he ignores them for the most part.

Adoptable Dachshund Zeke

Zeke is a wonderful dog when he is not anxious, he’s not had a good time of things and he just needs to know that he’s in a calm place. He needs to be an only dog and receive the full attention of his human.

At 3-years-old, Zeke weighs 11 pounds and is a purebred dachshund. He needs to be the only dog of someone who is most often at home. He requires medication and patience to help him with his anxiety.

If you believe you could provide a safe and loving forever home for this dog, please fill out an application with the dogs’ name on it.

*Be advised, we have a couple of volunteers processing hundreds of applications. We are unable to call everyone back as we do not have ANY employees. Our dedicated volunteers and foster parents will check references of the applications that appear to be a good match. At that time, if you are chosen, we will contact you to arrange a home visit.

The adoption fee helps to cover costs, as each dog is fully vetted, and treated, as needed to prepare them to move forward in their new life. You pay no fee unless you are chosen to adopt.
