Adoptable dachshund Sawyer is the best boy! He loves snuggles, long walks and treats. He bonded immediately with his foster family and foster puppy friends. Sawyer is even nice to cats, he’s a real gentleman.
Accustomed to going for walks, he is good on the leash. Sawyer is fully house trained. Although he is crate trained, he doesn’t really like it and will whine some. He hasn’t really needed to be crated while in our care.
He is a little nervous when meeting new people and needs to be approached slowly and on his level. He was not socialized much before so we are working on that every day and making great progress. Treats are a good peace offering and once he warms up to you there is no shortage of kisses and love that he is willing to give!
Sawyer is not food or toy aggressive. He rides well in the car. In our care he has received: Vet Check, 1 or more Vaccines, Dental Exam, Medication (temporary – like for acute infection), Skin treatments/ infections, Flea Treatments, Heart Worm testing and medication.
He tested positive for hookworms and is taking the appropriate medication. He will need to be retested in a couple of weeks with his new paw-rents. Sawyer has allergies that he had a shot for, and a spray for his skin sores.
Adoptable Dachshund Sawyer – 3 yrs, 13 lbs.
Sawyer is a lovable boy who likes snuggles and kisses from his people. He enjoys long walks, treats, and other dogs. He prefers to sleep with his person instead of a dog bed. He would like to find a home where there is another dog or two to play with. He doesn’t mind cats. Sawyer is doing great and will need a bit more practice with his socialization in public places. His recent adventures have been a great success! He would like to find a home where someone is around most of the time as he gets a little anxious when his people leave.
If you believe you could provide a safe and loving forever home for this dog, please fill out an application with the dogs’ name on it.
*Be advised, we have a couple of volunteers processing hundreds of applications. We are unable to call everyone back as we do not have ANY employees. Our dedicated volunteers and foster parents will check references of the applications that appear to be a good match. At that time, if you are chosen, we will contact you to arrange a home visit.
The adoption fee helps to cover costs, as each dog is fully vetted, and treated, as needed to prepare them to move forward in their new life. You pay no fee unless you are chosen to adopt.
