Adoptable dachshund Fritz is a handsome boy! He’s six years old, twelve pounds and quite the love bug. Fritz bonds quickly and prefers for his person to be home most of the day. Napping on the couch, snooping outside and taking car rides are a few of his favorite things to do.
Fritz loves to eat green beans, broccoli and watermelon for treats! He doesn’t show any toy or food aggression with his foster siblings. He gets along with small dogs. We are unsure of how Fritz is with large breed dogs and children; however, he doesn’t like cats. We repeat, not a fan of the cats!
Fritz is in the process of undoing bad habits in regard to being house trained. Foster mom is working hard to correct this and will need to be continued with his adoptive family. He’s a smart boy and with consistent practice and plenty of those green bean treats, he is expected to do well.
Foster mom notes that Fritz will “talk” to you. He’s sociable when meeting new people and doesn’t show any signs of timidness with new faces. It’s important for Fritz to be adopted into a home where he won’t be left alone for long periods of time. He does have separation anxiety when his person leaves the room or home. He barks when left alone and shakes with loud noises/thunder.
Adoptable Dachshund Fritz – 6 yrs, 12 lbs.
If you’re looking for a loyal buddy who just wants to be loved, Fritz is your boy. He’s been fully vetted and microchipped. He has a brother, Toby, who will be coming up for adoption if you happen to be looking for a pair – but they are not bonded and can be adopted individually.
If you believe you could provide a safe and loving forever home for this dog, please fill out an application with the dogs’ name on it.
*Be advised, we have a couple of volunteers processing hundreds of applications. We are unable to call everyone back as we do not have ANY employees. Our dedicated volunteers and foster parents will check references of the applications that appear to be a good match. At that time, if you are chosen, we will contact you to arrange a home visit.
The adoption fee helps to cover costs, as each dog is fully vetted, and treated, as needed to prepare them to move forward in their new life. You pay no fee unless you are chosen to adopt.
