Adoptable Mix Shadow is Pending Adoption – a sweet, mature fella who is looking for his perfect retirement home. Although his story is kind of a sad one, he’s looking forward to a happy ending with people who love and care for him.
Adoptable Mix Shadow
As you can see, Shadow is a little old man. The vet places him at about 12 years old, but his exact age is unknown. Even though he’s no spring chicken, Shadow is in good health.
He’s a small guy, weighing only 11.6 pounds at the first vet visit. As you can see, he has a cherry eye, but it doesn’t bother him at all. It’s just something the vet will need to check each year at the wellness visits.
The ideal home for Shadow would be one with no other pets, or maybe just one pet that would mostly leave him alone. He tolerates his foster siblings, because he’s a well-mannered gentleman, but they aren’t his favorite. He definitely doesn’t like them anywhere near his food, so he eats in a separate area.
His foster mommy says she’d love to see him go to a home where he can just relax and be happy for the rest of his days. He’ll follow you everywhere because he is a friendly guy who just wants to be near his person.
Shadow loves curling up on the couch in the evening to watch tv, and he enjoys his crate. His foster mommy leaves the door open to the crate and he goes in there to take nice long naps. He really loves his naps!
He’s a perfect gentleman with his potty habits and always does his business outside, as long as you keep him on a schedule. Shadow’s foster mommy says he’s been the easiest foster she’s ever had! He doesn’t demand a lot of attention and doesn’t bark a whole lot. He never begs for food when you are eating, he’s far too distinguished for that kind of behavior.
Shadow hasn’t had it easy in life. As an older dog, he’s content to know that you are nearby and that he is loved. He really isn’t any trouble at all and simply needs a place he can call his forever home. This well-behaved older gentleman certainly deserves to retire with love and dignity. He still has time to enjoy the good life!
If you believe you could provide a safe and loving forever home for this dog, please fill out an application with the dogs’ name on it.
*Be advised, we have a couple of volunteers processing hundreds of applications. We are unable to call everyone back as we do not have ANY employees. Our dedicated volunteers and foster parents will check references of the applications that appear to be a good match. At that time, if you are chosen, we will contact you to arrange a home visit.
The adoption fee helps to cover costs, as each dog is fully vetted, and treated, as needed to prepare them to move forward in their new life. You pay no fee unless you are chosen to adopt.
