Adoptable Mix Chloe – Adopted

Adoptable Mix Chloe

Adoptable mix Chloe is an adorable doxie-chihuahua mix who came into the rescue with some very serious problems. First off, she had a broken jaw which a kindly vet put back together with wires. Eventually, the wires were removed and her jaw is now healed.

Once the jaw was healed, the next procedure was to get Chloe spayed and remove two mammary tumors. She came through those procedures with flying colors and healed quickly.

The next problem was quite an ordeal. When she came to Low Rider it was noted that she was heartworm positive. Getting rid of these heartworms was a real process but now she’s finally healthy and happy.

Because of the way her cute ears “flop over”, her Low Rider foster mom calls her “The Flying Nun” (from the t.v. series way back in the day). She says Chloe needs a fenced yard because she is a RUNNER. She got away from her foster mom while on a leash once, and almost gave her a heart attack! Let’s just say, this girl can move!!!

Chloe does fine with other dogs, but doesn’t appreciate the love of cats! Her heartworm meds had her drinking loads of water and having accidents afterward. She is working hard on training, drinking less water, and enjoying frequently scheduled walks to correct this issue. Now that she’s well, with time, consistency, and patience, her success should greatly improve.

Sleeping in a dog bed and going to bed about 7 p.m. is her usual habit. She is also crate trained. Chloe has a prescription for Lorazepam which should be administered 30 to 60 minutes before a storm. She is terrified of storms! When meeting other dogs and people, she is friendly and shows no signs of anxiety, other than storms.

She likes squeaky toys, and Chloe’s foster mom says she’s a total lap dog! She LOVE, LOVE, LOVES sitting in the laps of her humans! Chloe is so happy all her problems are behind her, and now just needs a family who will love her forever! Are you the right home for this sweet dog?

If you believe you could provide a safe and loving forever home for this dog, please fill out an application with the dogs’ name on it.

*Be advised, we have a couple of volunteers processing hundreds of applications. We are unable to call everyone back as we do not have ANY employees. Our dedicated volunteers and foster parents will check references of the applications that appear to be a good match. At that time, if you are chosen, we will contact you to arrange a home visit.

The adoption fee helps to cover costs, as each dog is fully vetted, and treated, as needed to prepare them to move forward in their new life. You pay no fee unless you are chosen to adopt.
