Adoptable Doxie Salome – Adopted

Adoptable Doxie Salome is ***ADOPTED*** She’s a loveable sweetheart of a doxie! For a senior dog, she still has some zip and energy. Cuddling and being loved gives her great delight. She needs to be an ONLY dog.

You will be rewarded with lots of kisses and happy tail wagging. Taking car rides, walks, exploring are some of her favorite pastimes.

She enjoys meeting new people. Salome adores car rides! She’ll mostly stay in her own seat as long as the driver or someone is nearby.

She loves to go on walks and will walk briskly at times, other times wanting to check out her surroundings. Salome has encountered other dogs on her walks. Usually, she barks, tugs to get at them. On only two occasions she has gone “nose to nose” with another dog. After checking them out she has been calm and friendly.

Adoptable Doxie Salome

When left alone she does show signs of anxiety, although that seems to be somewhat improving over time. She doesn’t want to be left behind. Otherwise, she only shows signs of anxiety intermittently. Even though she doesn’t like it, she seems to be adjusting better to being left alone. So, she’s improving over time with reassurance and love.

Salome doesn’t dislike children but becomes fixated on them. She wants to constantly be in their face or in contact, mostly seems to want to lick. But she will not settle down or refocus her attention.

Salome uses a dog bed. She sleeps well in her own bed but would sleep in the owner’s bed if permitted. Although potty trained, when she becomes excited she may release some urine on occasion. This is not a terribly uncommon situation for dogs.

Salome will make a wonderful companion and family member, bringing joy and laughter at some of her cute antics!

*Be advised, we have a couple of volunteers processing hundreds of applications. We are unable to call everyone back as we do not have ANY employees. Our dedicated volunteers and foster parents will check references of the applications that appear to be a good match. At that time, if you are chosen, we will contact you to arrange a home visit.

The adoption fee helps to cover costs, as each dog is fully vetted, and treated, as needed to prepare them to move forward in their new life. You pay no fee unless you are chosen to adopt.
