Adoptable Doxie Nova – Adopted

Adoptable Doxie Nova

Adoptable Doxie Nova is a terrific success story. He’s named after the industrial company at the end of the road where he was abandoned 2 months ago. The workers teamed up after watching him dart along the woods for days and eventually caught him and took him in.

They generously offered to bring him to our veterinarian, as the poor boy was incredibly sick. After a long battle with a chronic infection, he is like the caterpillar that became a monarch.

Nova Infection

Initially, we didn’t know if Nova was 3 or 13! He was so lethargic and timid. Now it’s VERY obvious he’s a young pup with the world at his feet! His skin is healed, and he’s well on the way to losing the weight needed.

Nova is a rare one in rescue, a beautiful long haired dapple doxie. And he really is only 3. This beautiful boy needs a furever home to complete his journey to health and wellness. He’s the happiest little guy you’ll ever meet!

Nova is a 3 year old, 19 pound, long-hair, dapple dachshund. He gets along well with his foster dog siblings. It’s unknown as to how he will respond to cats. He does well with people, but may need some additional training as he likes to bark at the neighbors a bit.

Crate trained, and a good leash walker, Nova is well-behaved. He prefers sleeping at the foot of his fosters bed but uses his crate for safety and rest. Because he is working on weight-loss, it’s important that he have at least two walks daily and a monitored, healthy diet.

Due to a stringent diet, it’s best to feed him separately. He is incredibly food motivated and needs to work on not snapping fingers. He’s anxious about riding in the car, but a vet approved CBD oil has been helpful.

He was terrified when first fostered, but he was abandoned and deathly sick. It took less than a week for him to warm up. He’s a friendly and loving dog who is seeking someone who will help him on his journey to wellness (the infection is cleared up, but he is still losing weight). He needs some training, assurance, most likely continued CBD oil, and plenty of love and attention. Are you the right home for this active young dog?

If you believe you could provide a safe and loving forever home for this dog, please fill out an application with the dogs’ name on it.

*Be advised, we have a couple of volunteers processing hundreds of applications. We are unable to call everyone back as we do not have ANY employees. Our dedicated volunteers and foster parents will check references of the applications that appear to be a good match. At that time, if you are chosen, we will contact you to arrange a home visit.

The adoption fee helps to cover costs, as each dog is fully vetted, and treated, as needed to prepare them to move forward in their new life. You pay no fee unless you are chosen to adopt.
