Adoptable Doxie Mix Maple is a sweet and snuggly 13-year-old senior that LOVES belly rubs, car rides, and going to Lowes. We believe she may be a standard dachshund mix as she is a little bigger at 36 lbs.
She gets along great with other dogs but is a bit of a loner and tends to hang out by herself or on a human lap – she’s a love bug! Maple loves both of her foster parents, but she has formed a deeper bond with her foster dad. She does not like to be left alone and has some minor separation anxiety when he goes to work.
Although she will growl if another dog comes close while her foster parents are eating, she does not attack. It is unknown as to how she feels about cats, but both big and small dogs are on her good list. Maple is NOT fond of the crate and is not crate trained. Of course, she’s such a good girl, it’s not necessary, especially at this stage of her life. She sleeps well in both a dog bed and with her fosters.
Maple would do well in a home where her owner is home often or able to take her along to work. She is house trained, leash trained, and a well-behaved lady. As a senior she enjoys napping most of the day, lounging in the sun, and has some random spurts of energy. This sweetheart of a doxie mix is looking for a loving someone with whom she can share her golden years!

The adoption fee helps to cover costs, as each dog is fully vetted, and treated, as needed to prepare them to move forward in their new life. You pay no fee unless you are chosen to adopt.
