Adoptable Dachshund Mix WallE – Adopted

Adoptable dachshund mix WallE (Wall-e) is a sweet, easy going boy with a quiet nature. As you can see, he has a lot of chihuahua in him. Being sweet and calm, as he tends to be, Wall-e isn’t food or toy aggressive.

Although friendly when meeting new dogs, he is a little shy and will stand back away from the activity to protect himself. He does like other dogs, but big dogs will scare him. It’s unknown as to how he feels about cats, but Wall-e would probably be fine. Very young children would not be good around this little guy as he is just too small to protect himself at all. Older kids and teenagers trained to look out for him would be fine.

Sweet little Wall-e is only 5 years old and weighs just 7 pounds.

This little bitty beauty of a boy is good on the leash, and does well on walks. Wall-e is fully house trained and is crate-trained as well. He sleeps in a dog bed on his own, but has also been enjoying sleeping in the bed with his foster parents.

To summarize, Wall-e doesn’t bark excessively, is not aggressive, is a little bit shy although he likes other dogs. He needs a home where he feels safe, without big dogs or very small children. He’s a really good boy who is looking for his very own family to keep him forever!

Wall-e recently had a mass in his groin area. It was removed and pathology showed it was cancerous. It is a soft tissue sarcoma that does not metastasize. If this type of tumor returns, the soft tissue will simply need to be removed again.

It takes time for our volunteers to process the apps and could be a week or more before you hear anything. If you don’t hear back, be sure to check your spam file and feel free to apply for other dogs. Unfortunately, our volunteers do not have the ability to call every applicant. Thank you for understanding!
