Adoptable Dachshund Maddie – Adopted

Adoptable Dachshund Maddie is now Adopted to her new home. She suddenly found herself without a home after being with the same owner for 11 years prior. She is a sweet loving dog, gets along well with other dogs. Maddie is blind, but does extremely well.

Adoptable Dachshund Maddie

She is house trained, well behaved, and eager to please. Maddie is a “people person” – she has enjoys meeting people and dogs of all ages! Kids don’t bother Maddie, but you would want to watch out for younger ones around her, especially because of her blindness.

This girl is fine with toys but is aggressive with food. She needs to be fed slowly. Maddie will always be where the food is, like most dachshunds we know and love.

Maddie can smell a new friend 20 feet away. She will seek another dog out on her walks. She enjoys the dog park as well. Due to her blindness, she can not gage the size of other dogs, but has no fear of them.

As a matter of fact, this social girl doesn’t like to be alone. A person who is home most of the time would be best for her.

Maddie is a good sleeper. She goes to bed around 8:30 and sleeps all night until 7:30 or 8 am. Maddie likes to sleep all stretched out and would like a flat bed best.

Adopt Maddie

She does great at events and interacting with others, walking on a leash, riding in a car, boat, and golf cart. There are times when on her walks she will just stop. Her foster mom has found a dog stroller useful when this happens.
